The Bike Guy consists of myself Johnny Mack Barlow and my family. We are a small, home based business in Salt Lake City, that started nearly by accident and has grown briskly into a great asset to the area.

In 1991, I attended the United Bicycle Institute and became professionally trained in the art and science of bicycle repair. I have enjoyed learning about bicycle repair and growing my talents as a mechanic.

I have experience in life that gives me a perspective that allows for a keen sense of what that non-riding public needs, in order to get on a bike.

One goal in this venture is to try some different ways of doing bicycle repair such as, some used parts whenever possible, and many other things that help to save the bike from repair costs that exceed the value of the bike.

Although my shop is in my garage for now. This is a strong base to build a self-supportive, independent, local alternative to the current available bike shops.
